Koh Samui Nightlife
Well what can we say about the nightlife in Koh Samui.....there is something for everybody. The island is full of restaurants of very description. Everywhere on the island you will find small Thai eateries, there are also lots of mixed western Thai restaurants that vary in price and standard, although the price dos not always reflect the standard of the food. Many of the more ordinary roadside establishments can have reputations for the finest food – normally specialising in a certain type of food.
There are lots of high-end places to at all around Koh Samui and the prices are normally favourable to elsewhere in the world, along with excellent service, which would only to be expected in the land of smiles. Lots of the restaurants double as fashionable bars and clubs, and sometimes the more out of the way the classier the atmosphere.
The main nightlife spot is Cheweng, which can be a little too in your face if you're not used to a big party town. Although it is still easy to avoid the crowds and noise even when in Cheweng. Cheweng Beach is still very beautiful and while there are lots of lively bars, the beach is extensive and still offers beautiful quiet spots for those wishing to avoid the crowds, or perhaps just start the evening at a slower pace. Cheweng itself is a long strip along the length of the beach and also offers a wide choice of venue, but this is where you'll wan to be if you want party in to the morning light.
Other nightspots exist that are fall in between the two extremes. The Fisherman's Village for instance offers beautiful restaurants and classy bars throughout a still quaint village that has existed on Samui for a long time before the tourists arrived. This is certainly a good starting point no matter what type of evening is required. Some bars will have live bands or just good music in the background. Some of the restaurants with the best reputations are also located here. Wherever you are on Samui you won't be more than a short journey away from a night out. Once here, it's easy to work out what and where will suit you.
