As a contrast to the studios, many of the new developments are comprised of a variety of apartment s of varying sizes. From one bedroom apartments, up to large family apartments that could present alternatives to a villa. It is essential to have a property maintained, and even if you are living full time in the property, many of the maintenance requirement s, such as swimming pools will necessarily need to be done by contractors. Many villas will be on maintained sites, but this can still mean you rely on a company to give their own reports on their own performance. Other villas might be stand alone and therefore very difficult to asses what sort of job is being done by any maintenance company or individual sub-contractors.

Apartments can offer a much safer alternative when it comes to the up-keep of the property. They will, by their nature, have an in-built maintenance contract and, this will be run on a full time basis to be able to respond to the inevitable fact that apartment blocks will usually have at least some occupancy. It also means that there is consistency when you need to discuss maintenance and rentals etc.

Some of the apartments on Samui can offer spectacular views, great facilities - large pools gyms, restaurants etc - that might only be normally available to those people who can afford the very high end villas, and all the associated costs that go along with that.
