Like most places in the world, beach front land prices are normally at a premium, and Koh Samui is no different. If you are looking for land or a villa on the beachfront in Koh Samui, it will cost you more than elsewhere, even though some of the more expensive properties can be found in land on higher ground with great views. This is often due to the fact that they can build much bigger properties, with the space available.

Relative to the size and finis of a property, beach front villas will be more expensive every time. However it would be true to say that Koh Samui has an extremely large amount of beach front land. As one of the largest islands in Thailand it has more beach front than elsewhere. This means that while the relative price is still higher, the beach front land is not at such a high premium that it becomes unattainable.

Much of the beachfront land is still owned by the local Samui Thais, and as such people are still looking to develop it. You can drive around Samui and find that most of the beach front land is unspoilt and mainly clear of any development, including local people.

As such if your dream is to own a beach-front property, then Samui is an excellent choice. It can enable you to buy an existing property at a reasonable price, or build a new one – all due to the fact that there is so much beach-front available. It also offers the choice of a variety of locations, isolated or near the more populated areas, or perhaps something in-between.
